Village Hall

Painting the Village Hall

After consulting with many people, the colour thought to be most appropriate for our village hall, and by a clear majority, is Number 4 – a Sandtex masonry paint colour called Country Stone.

We’re now looking for volunteers to help paint the hall!

Painting will take place (weather permitting) over two weekends. The first will be Saturday and Sunday of the 3rd and 4th of August. Then also the following weekend, Saturday and Sunday of the 10th and 11th August.

We shall work in 3 hour shifts from 9.30am till 12.30pm. A lunch break from 12.30pm to 1.30pm and then an afternoon session from 1.30pm to 4.30pm. A light lunch and drinks (non-alcoholic I’m afraid ..) will be provided for those you’d like it.

If you’ve got a bit of time and fancy coming along for the fun and work, then your efforts will be very much appreciated and worthwhile.  Brushes and rollers will be provided and you’ll need to turn up in clothes suitable for painting.

Decide which shift you’d like to do and this can be as many or as few as you’d like.  Also please say if you’d like lunch on that particular day. We’ll have teas and coffees going for both morning and afternoon sessions.

Either reply by email to: with details of which shift/s and lunch/es you’d like together with your name and phone number please.

Or, simply write your name on the schedule on the village hall noticeboard.

If the weather turns, we’ll make a decision to cancel the day before and let people know.

Here’s to more sunny days!

Thank you.   Martin  01963 210169

PS The latest news on the purchase of the field behind the hall, is that probate has now been settled and that the usual legal niceties are going ahead. As soon as completion takes place, notices will be posted on the hall noticeboard and also on the website.

In addition to this a £1 slot meter is in place for electricity for the overhead heaters in the main hall and for the range cooker in the kitchen.
